Mazda Road To Indy

As I just recently installed a rollbar on my miata and am considering to attend one of track events at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, I decided to first visit the raceway and see other people racing there. 

Road to Indy racing event happened to have a Global Mazda MX-5 Cup. This is one of the reasons I really wanted to come to see this event.

Before the race starts. All the miata lovers can go crazy with how this view looks.

Race started.

There was a kart circuit right next to the actual circuit. Is this for audiences who got too excited with the race and cannot resist their enthusiasm in racing?

After the race all the miatas who ran the race were outside the paddock so we could go and take a closer look.

This guy was actually the last in the race but completed the race with no accident. Great work.

This one was actually the very last in the race until the fastest group reached him over one lap and he lost control and got into an accident. This is very sad..

Found a car that represents Japan!

The blue one in the right won the race with quite a big margin from the 2nd.

After the lunch break was the main race of the event (probably). We discovered that the building next to the normal paddock seatings area had a nice rooftop to look down the track, and everyone was allowed to go. It was such a nice view and I wish I could take photos of miata racing from here as well.

Next time I'll make sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and earplugs.
